Preview: 2020 Hyundai Palisade

The 2020 Hyundai Palisade debuted recently at the L.A. Auto Show. This Hyundai SUV will debut in dealerships like Waikem Hyundai in Summer 2019.
When the Palisade SUV is for sale, it will be a third row SUV with plenty of cargo space, all the latest technology options and innovative safety features.

Utility
The Palisade will have a 7-passenger and 8-passenger option. Hyundai predicts that the Palisade will have best-in-class headroom, legroom and cargo room when it debuts – more than the Santa Fe XL, Highlander, Pilot, Pathfinder and Explorer.
Innovative options make it easy to reach your full potential. A single button push makes it easy to fold up or down the second or third row. Another button option easily slides the second row, making it easy for kids to climb in to the third row.

Innovative Safety
The Palisade will feature a number of standard safety options.
  1. Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist – sensors monitor what’s happening in the blind spot. The vehicle automatically shifts back into your lane and bells chime if you attempt to shift lanes when another car is in your blind spot.
  2. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist – when backing up, the vehicle will apply the brakes and bells will chime if a car or pedestrian is coming from the left or right.
  3. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection – If traffic is stopped ahead, sensors will alert you and apply the brakes to try and prevent an accident. It uses the same logic with joggers, bikers, or kids that may run on to the streets.
  4. Lane Keeping Assist – Chimes will ring, and the vehicle will swerve back in to the lane if you sway without signaling.
  5. Driver Attention Warning – Data is stored and recorded by the vehicle and if it detects potential driver fatigue, alerts will ring and encourage the driver to pull off the road and take a rest.
One of the new safety features is called safe exit. Once the vehicle is shut off, sensors monitor if anyone is still in the car. Alerts will chime if it detects a child or pet, ensuring that no one accidentally gets left behind.
A new optional feature is a blind view monitor. Similar to a backup camera, this camera is on the side mirror and displays on the center console when you activate the turn signal.

All Wheel Drive with Snow Mode
The Palisade has optional all wheel drive with a special snow mode. This will be the perfect SUV for a Northeast Ohio winter because Snow Mode provides you with extra grip in dicey weather.
Under the hood it will come standard with a 3.8L V6 engine that produces 291 horsepower.

Technology
The Palisade allows you to connect two Bluetooth devices at once – one for streaming and one for hands-free calling.
It offers seven USB ports and every device stays charged.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available on the Palisade.
It offers a wireless charging system. Two touchscreen options include 10.25-inch or a larger 12.3 inch display.
A few innovative options include a rear microphone system that allows you to talk to the passenger in the back seat without raising your voice. Rear sleep mode is great when you’re driving with children. The rear speakers will shut off, but the front ones will still play. You can enjoy the ride while the kids enjoy a nice nap.
There will be seven exterior paint colors. Leather and cloth interior options are included.
