Review: 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has arrived at Waikem Hyundai in Massillon, Ohio. This is one of the most highly-anticipated vehicles of the year, and when you see it in person, you see that Hyundai has delivered on the hype.
This gorgeous new SUV gets updated style, improved safety, innovative features and improved ride quality. Hyundai has made great improvements to the new Santa Fe, and we’re excited to show it off to you today.
New Names
The Hyundai Santa Fe is now the five-passenger SUV. Previously, the Santa Fe Sport was a five-seat SUV and the Santa Fe was the 7 passenger. This year, the Santa Fe XL will be a 7-passenger SUV. This review is exclusively about the five passenger 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.
Safety is Standard
One of the headlines of the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is the standard advanced safety features. These innovative options make driving safer than ever. While most companies make you pay extra for this, every 2019 Santa Fe comes with the following features:
Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist – sensors monitor what’s happening in the blind spot. The vehicle automatically shifts back into your lane and bells chime if you attempt to shift lanes when another car is in your blind spot.
  1. Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist – when backing up, the vehicle will apply the brakes and bells will chime if a car or pedestrian is coming from the left or right.
  2. Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection – If traffic is stopped ahead, sensors will alert you and apply the brakes to try and prevent an accident. It uses the same logic with joggers, bikers, or kids that may run on to the streets.
  3. Lane Keeping Assist – Chimes will ring, and the vehicle will swerve back in to the lane if you sway without signaling.
  4. Driver Attention Warning – Data is stored and recorded by the vehicle and if it detects potential driver fatigue, alerts will ring and encourage the driver to pull off the road and take a rest.
  5. Safe Exit Assist – When the vehicle is parked, this system prevents the doors from opening if there’s oncoming traffic. It’s a new level of safety that prevents children from opening the door and having a car crash in to that door. Also, it prevents a potential accident.
Great New Style
The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is a beautiful vehicle with head-turning style. It’s highlighted up front with thin LED headlights and on a bold, cascading front grille. The new Santa Fe look aligns closer with the new Sonata and Veloster.
Inside the Santa Fe gets that tablet-like floating center screen. It’s easier to use and access from both the driver’s and passenger’s seat.
They’ve even redesigned the vehicle to allow more natural light to shine in. Engineering innovations also allow for more legroom, hip room and arm room.
There are nine exterior color choices and four interior color choices.
Longer, Wider
This year’s Santa Fe is longer and wider than last year’s model. It’s also bigger than the Tucson and Kona, Hyundai’s other SUVs. It’s built for family road trips. It’s easy to store everything in the trunk and you’ll still get that extra legroom.
New Powertrains
The Santa Fe comes standard in front wheel drive, and all wheel drive is available at every trim level. The Santa Fe has an inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 185 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft of torque.
Front wheel drive Santa Fes get 29 highway MPG and all wheel drive Santa Fes peak at 27 highway MPG.
Idle Stop and Go technology saves gas and reduces emissions. If your vehicle comes to a long stop at a light, it will shut off the engine and automatically restart once you hit the gas.
Great Tech
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard on every new Santa Fe. This innovative technology makes it easy to sync your phone and car. You can make and take hands-free calls, send and read texts with your voice, access your songs and podcasts, access your map software and even safely use the most popular apps from your phone.
Each Santa Fe comes standard with Bluetooth, Backup Camera, and multiple USB ports. At the top of the line Ultimate trim, Santa Fes include a wireless device charging pad that quickly recharges your phone and other devices.
Comfort Features
Upgrade your Santa Fe to include features like heated leather seats, sunroof, seat memory, leg cushion extensions, power driver’s seat and heated mirrors.
