Review: 2018 Hyundai Tucson

The 2018 Hyundai Tucson arrives at Waikem Hyundai in Massillon, Ohio with new trim levels and more options at a lesser price. If you want technology, comfort, safety and ride quality, it’s hard to find one better than the Tucson.

So What’s New
New trim levels highlight the changes to your 2018 Hyundai Tucson.
The new SEL trim level is the previous model’s SE popular equipment package. With SEL you’ll get all the Tucson standard features like Bluetooth, USB port and backup camera plus options like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, heated front seats, power driver’s seat, and LED Daytime Running Lights.
Another new trim is SEL Plus. With his model you get the features listed above plus leather seats, an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, and dual climate controls.
The other new trim level is Value, and this model adds a panoramic sunroof, hands-free liftgate and rear parking sensors.
Finally the Limited trim is still available on the Tucson, and it’s the top of the line model with features like heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, LED taillights and more.

Top Safety Pick
The Tucson is a 2018 IIHS Top Safety Pick and it also received a 5-star safety rating in the government’s NHTSA crash test ratings.
The Tucson is offered with a number of optional advanced safety features that keep you and everyone around you safer.
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection – Your Tucson senses vehicles and pedestrians in your path and automatically initiates your brakes
  • Smart Cruise Control – Set a safe driving speed, and your Tucson will automatically slow down to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
  • Blind Spot Detection – Provides audible and visual alerts if a vehicle is detected in the driver’s blind spot.
  • Dynamic Bending Lights – Your headlights move in sync with your vehicle to safely see road lines and more.
  • Lane Departure Warning – Let’s you know when your vehicle is drifting out of its driving lane without signaling.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert – Similar to Blind Spot Detections, rear-cross traffic alerts warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side.

Performance
The Tucson is available in both front wheel drive or all wheel drive. This is a great vehicle to own in Northeast Ohio, because the Hyundai All Wheel Drive system is built to help you get through that January snowstorm.
It comes standard with a  2.0L engine that produces up to 164 horsepower and maxes out at 30 highway  MPG.
If you’re looking for a little more power, upgrade to the 1.6L turbocharged engine that produces 175 horsepower and also maxes out a 30 MPG. With all wheel drive, the 1.6L Tucson reaches an impressive 28 highway miles per gallon.

Great Road Trip Vehicle
The Tucson is great if you have a small family or if you like to travel with pets. The Tucson offers 133.2 cubic feet of interior volume with 31 cubic feet of cargo space. You can easily fit all your friends and family, plus their luggage, and hit the road for that next vacation.
With the safety and comfort features we listed above, everyone stays comfortable, safe and entertained on any daily drive. Ample legroom keeps everyone cozy for the whole trip.
